The Avatar is hand selected from the very best rows in the very best vineyards of Croze. Three Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards combine with the addition of Cabernet Franc from Oakville & Oak Knoll and Petit Verdot. Each varietal was harvested and fermented separately allowing for close monitoring through fermentation and aging, maxiimizing the depth and potential of this wine.

This wine opens with a rich and intense fruit character with mesmerizing earthy complexity. Elegant and polished with deep powerful and explosive flavors. Aromas of dark mulburries, blackberries and black cherris meld with enticing spice box notes. There is a combination of beautifully integrated tannin with just the right acidity to promote long aging potential.

Tasting Notes

The Avatar opens with a rich aroma of dark fruit and enticing spice box notes. The mid-palate presents layers of fruit, chocolate and tobacco. The finish is intense with mocha, espresso and leather.

Vineyard Notes

The grapes for Avatar are sourced from the very best vineyards in the CROZE portfolio. There are three Cabernet Vineyards used to produce this wine, in addition to two Cabernet Franc vineyards, and Petit Verdot vineyard. The largest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the famed Oakville AVA. The addition of Oakville and Oak Knoll Cabernet Franc and Calaveras Petit Verdot round out the final blend.

Production Notes

Each varietal for this wine was harvested separately and fermented in small one ton bins. Each bin was hand stirred three times a day to manage tannin extraction. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 36 months in French Oak from the Nevers Forrest.

This wine showcases a rich and intense fruit character with a slight earthy complexity. It is dense, yet displays a profound elegance.
