2010 SMITH WOOTON CABERNET FRANC from Gallagher's Vineyard
comes to you wrapped in precious silver on the outside and filled
with big, bold, ripe fruit and supple tannins on the inside!
The wine is aged in French Oak barrels for 24 months.

The wine opens with aromas of mint and sweet roasted peppers
with a touch of spice.  There is a memory of dired roses and
dark cherries with tingles of spices as the wine coats the palate

This wine demonstrates classic leather and vanilla notes on the
finish.  It has the balance to age gracefully for a decade.  We recommend
decanting prior to drinking. - Daniel Benton, Sommelier

The fruit was farmed with Sustainable Agricutural Practices and just
125 cases were produced.

This wine is no longer available for purchase.

SMITH WOOTON LIBRARY WINE

These are the last bottles,
saved exclusively for our Wine Club members!

2005 SMITH WOOTON SYRAH from Tanner Vineyard was aged
30 months in French Oak barrels.  This wine is a shining example
of the fruit-forward style that beautifully balances subtle oak
spices and clean, focused acidity.

This wine opens with aromas of black cherries, clove spice and a bit
of Prosciutto.  Fully rounded mouth feel  with dense concentrated
blackberries and plum on the tongue.  Imagine a sultry northern Rhone
varietal, wrapped in dark velvet and arm in arm with the brute
force
of California Syrah.  One glass is never enough.
- Gabrielle Shaffer, Sommelier

The grapes were farmed with Sustainable Agricultural practices and
just 297 cases were produced.

SMITH WOOTON VINTNER'S SELECT PETIT VERDOT
is back in town!  Strap on your chaps and get ready to
ride, because the only thing petit about our 2010
vintage is the size of the grapes!

This is a bold, tannic wine, ready to attack the wildest
roast beast!  The wine features mature fruit and clear,
varietal
character. 23 months in French Oak barrels
enhances the
tannin structure and adds to the wine's
aging potential.

The nose is floral with notes of Sage.  On the palate, the wine opens
to reveal its complexity with notes of dusty roses, dried red apple and
dark cherry.  Tannins are tight and tart.  This is another classic
SMITH WOOTON wine that leaves you craving more.  Decanting prior
to serving is recommended. - Daniel Benton, Sommelier

Just 175 cases were produced, fruit was farmed with Sustainable
Agricutural Practices.

This vintage is available for purchase with your BIG THREE discount.

CROZE SPOTLIGHT ON SUMMER SIPPING WINE

2012 CROZE Suzanne K VIOGNIER comes from tiny, Phoenix
Phamily Vineyard in Napa Valley's southern growing region.
This is an elegant, complex wine with delicate floral
aromas of white flowers and rich stone fruit.

On the palate, the wine shows peach and apricot notes
and a subtle mineraltiy that adds depth.

Swirling the wine in a glass releases a whole bouquet of
fresh cut roses and subtle spices which are also detected
on the tongue.  The finish is crisp and elegant, creating

an experience that reflects the CROZE philosophy of balance and finesse.
- Daniel Benton, Winemaker & Sommelier

Just 135 cases were produced, farmed with Sustainable Agricultural
Practices.

This vintage is available for purchase with your BIG THREE discount.

VINEYARD UPDATE

As of May 26th, bud break and flowering are complete and
tiny grapes are forming on the vines (Seen here is our Money
Road vineyard in Oakville.) Soon final suckering (removing
vines growing from the plant base) will be done. At that
time, the canopy will be evaluated  to determine the proper
ratio between fruit and leaves for the 2013 crop. After
Veraison (when grapes change color) excess leaves will be
removed for more even ripening.

As of now, we should have a  bountiful
harvest and an early one.  But this is
farming, so that could change!

In Vino Veritas,

Suzanne K
