Ripe fruit makes 2007 SMITH WOOTON CABERNET FRANC big and bold with clear varietal character. Extended barrel aging enhances the tannin structure and adds to the wine’s aging potential. Dried flowers and ripe, black fruits open the nose and continue on the palate of this decadent 2007 Smith Wooton Napa Cabernet Franc. Pomegranite and blackberry preserves stand out on the palate with a voluptuous mouth feel and young, savory tannins. This wine has a gluttoness intensity that cannot be denied and yet has balance that will lend it for many years to come. Enjoy this with roast duck and plum sauce, grilled portabellas, pungent blue cheese, and chocolate

"I've only had Smith Wooton Cabernet Franc a very few times in my life, but I remember the stuff tasting like floating through the night sky in a black velvet balloon..." Dara Moskowitz, City Pages "Nirvana in a glass." Bill Ward, Taste
The vineyard is located on the eastern slope of Napa Valley's Silverado Trail, in the heart of the Cabernet growing region. Grower, Bryan Gallagher hand tends his plot and knows each vine intimately. As the result of his efforts, the grapes come in fat, ripe and loaded with varietal flavors.
Very limited production, 1.3 acres.
Elegant and superbly balanced, this handsome wine promises to evolve for as long as you care to lay it down.
Enjoy this with roast duck and cherry sauce, grilled portabellas, pungent blue cheese, and chocolate.
