Tasting Notes:
Plum spice and cedar chest open the nose of this decadent 2006 Smith Wooton Napa Cabernet Franc. Plump boysenberry and blueberry preserves stand out on the palate with huge mouthfeel and young, savory tannins. This wine is a very intense, new-world style of the grape that will come to show grace for many years. Truly gluttoness.
Awards:
"I've only had Smith Wooton Cabernet Franc a very few times in my life, but I remember the stuff tasting like floating through the night sky in a black velvet balloon..." Dara Moskowitz, City Pages
"Nirvana in a glass." Bill Ward, Taste
Vineyard Notes:
The vineyard is located on the eastern slope of Napa Valley's Silverado Trail, in the heart of the Cabernet growing region. Grower, Bryan Gallagher hand tends his plot and knows each vine intimately. As the result of his efforts, the grapes come in fat, ripe and loaded with varietal flavors.
Production Notes:
Very limited production, 1.3 acres.

Elegant and superbly balanced, this handsome wine promises to evolve for as long as you care to lay it down.
