Tasting Notes:
The 2007 CROZE Sauvignon Blanc is light, crisp and well balanced. Moderate tannin structure compliments the bright fruit character, which is in keeping with the winemaker’s philosophy and style.
This wine reflects the vineyard’s low yield of intense, varietally correct fruit. Its bouquet reveals fresh aromas of lime and mineral. As the wine opens in the glass, layering flavors of citrus oil and honeydew emerge. The finish is agreeably long and full and its white gold hue glows in the glass.
Vineyard Notes:
Monte Lago Vineyards are located in the Northern hills overlooking Clearlake, in Lake County, CA. Hot days, cool nights and perfect soil produce a low yield and intensely varietal fruit.
Production Notes:
The grapes were hand-picked crushed and fermented in small lots to preserve the fruit's varietal character and avoid extraction of harsh tannins. A long, cool fermentation in a sstainless steel tank further preserved the fresh aromas and flavors.
Winemaker Notes:
Our premier CROZE Sauvignon Blanc is an elegant wine with true California style.
Food Pairing:
This Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with poultry, fish and pasta dishes. It's perfect with rich sauces and soft cheese. It's also great for sipping--share a cool, refreshing glass with a friend!
