About This Wine:

This 2008 Croze' shows the intensity that we have come to love in this unique style with broad strokes of strawberry, pomegranate, and fresh red cherries.  The intoxicating abundance of fruit continues on the palate with medium weight, more red berry, and a hint of lemongrass.  Even the finish will leave you swirling in a daydream of fresh berry kisses.   Croze' (say croze-a) is a favorite for sipping and casual dining.  Croze' is also a compliment to holiday fare.  Serve lightly chilled.

Vineyard Notes:
The 2008 Croze' grapes came from Suisun Valley, just across the Eastern Hills from Napa Valley. Here, the daylight hours are just a bit warmer, without the cooling marine influence of the San Francisco Bay. Soil and climate are similar to South Central France, where Rose' is Queen. Steve Tenbrink grew these luscious Cabernet Sauvignon grapes especially for Rose'.

Production Notes:
Winemaker, Gary Wooton vinted these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make a hearty Rosé in the French "Vin d' Une Nuit" (Wine of One Night) style. In this method, after de-stemming, the grapes are left on the skins for one night before pressing. This produces deeper colored, more robust wine.Unlike most Rosé wines, which are drained off the skins as soon as possible after pressing, grapes for Croze are crushed and the juice left on the skins overnight, before pressing. This gives the wine its ruby color and rich mouth feel.

Winemaker Notes:
A long, sunny growing season was perfect for making this juicy Rose' wine. Steve Tenbrink grew these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, especially for Rose'.

Food Pairing:
Served chilled, Croze' is the perfect warm day refresher, especially at a picnic. Pair it with cold meats, black olives, creamy cheeses and fresh strawberries. For dinner, sip this with light salads and something from the grill. As always, Croze' is perfect with a sunset and a friend.
